Our mission
CORE Wrestling, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2012 by Stan Banks Jr.— Two-time NC State Champion, ACC Champion, and NCAA Division I All-American at UNC. These experiences provided an education, work ethic, confidence, career, and invaluable life skills. Stan's passion is providing the same opportunities to our local youth.Â
With the support of a competent and committed board and generous donors, Stan has leveraged the sport of wrestling as a powerful tool to teach the CORE Values that foster success both on and off the mat.Â
Key Results Since 2012Â
- Provided over 150 member scholarships.Â
- Funded trips to wrestling camps and college tours for over 85 youth members.Â
- Developed over 125 state champions and national all-Americans.Â
- Purchased a team van to support practice, tournament, and after school participation.

CORE Wrestling, Inc. is raising $100,000 to expand opportunities and strengthen our impact in the community. Your support will directly fund:
New Wrestling Mats – Safe, high-quality equipment for training and competition.
Afterschool Program Supplies – Tools and resources to keep our youth engaged and growing.
Transportation and Staff – Reliable travel and dedicated mentors to guide our athletes.
Facility Up Fit – Essential upgrades to meet city codes and ensure a safe, welcoming space for all.
All CORE Wrestling, Inc. donations are tax deductible. 10% I applied to the Sylvia A. Banks Scholarship Fund, unless specifically ear-marked (see red scholarship button below for details).
