Our mission

Our mission is simple: Help young people grow into confident, committed, and community-minded leaders.

CORE Wrestling, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2012 by Stan Banks Jr.— Two-time NC State Champion, ACC Champion, and NCAA Division I All-American at UNC. These experiences provided an education, work ethic, confidence, career, and invaluable life skills. Stan's passion is providing the same opportunities to our local youth. 

With the support of a competent and committed board and generous donors, Stan has leveraged the sport of wrestling as a powerful tool to teach the CORE Values that foster success both on and off the mat. 

Key Results Since 2012 

  • Provided over 150 member scholarships. 
  • Funded trips to wrestling camps and college tours for over 85 youth members. 
  • Developed over 125 state champions and national all-Americans. 
  • Purchased a team van to support practice, tournament, and after school participation.
